ADVENT
Advent is the beginning of the church year.
With the wintery world, we slow down, we get sleepy, and things are darker. We know the dark and dead things are not actually dead but dormant; we know there is a life to come for all the green things in our world. The earth is ripe for spring, and so are we.
We are invited to engage the season of Advent to do our part in preparing the way for Jesus. Engaging Advent is sacramental—as we practice disciplines and rituals in the days leading up to Christmas, we play out visibly the invisible reality of souls restless for Jesus. We’ve created and collected some resources and ways to engage below to help you do just that. We hope you will join us as we await our coming King.
WAYS TO ENGAGE
-
Worship & Prayer
As we enter the sacred season of Advent, join us for a reflective worship and prayer service designed to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. This evening will feature instrumental arrangements that guide us into the deep, quiet anticipation of the season along with repetitive singing and prayer. This service is an invitation to pause embrace the beauty of waiting on God—both in silence and in music.
