Neighbor Sunday
On Neighbor Sunday we practice being a neighborhood church!
How? One way is by hearing from our Ministry Partner, Heartbound, who will share how to care for our incarcerated neighbors. Another way is by slowing down between services to know each other better--putting on a name tag, enjoying a donut, and hanging out a bit longer in the Atrium to chat.

Back to the Basics: Stewarding Our Christian Witness
How do we faithfully steward our Christian witness in the midst of political division?
We’ll gather for an evening of worship, conversation, prayer, and reflection as we consider how we can remain rooted in Christ and faithful to our witness throughout the election season.
Led by the And Campaign, we’ll hear from Justin Giboney, have an opportunity to pray together, and explore things like:
What Scripture teaches about our identity as citizens of God's Kingdom before any earthly nation or political movement.
How Christians can hold deep convictions while practicing humility, charity, and love toward those with whom they disagree.
The ways both conservative and progressive political movements can shape—or distort—our Christian witness.
How believers can engage difficult cultural issues with courage, wisdom, and hope while remaining faithful to the gospel.
Whether you're feeling exhausted by today's political climate, looking for a healthier way to engage difficult issues, or seeking to better reflect the character of Christ in your civic life, we invite you to join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion and meaningful conversation.

Reading Scripture in Context: How the Ancient World Illuminates the Bible
One of the main ways we can engage with scripture well is by asking, “what was the historical context in which these stories were written?” This class seeks to answer that question. Join us to learn more about the historical context behind the five main eras that span the story of scripture.

Karen Guess Ordination Service
Join us on Friday, November 13th at 7:30pm when Bishop Jeff Bailey of our diocese, Churches for the Sake of Others, will ordain Karen Guess to the priesthood of the Anglican Church! Come celebrate with us in worship & communion and at the reception following.

Immanuel Neighbor Cohort
Immanuel Neighbor Cohort is now the primary space for growth, support, and formation for our Partner Champions—those offering support in prisons, community centers, in other countries, and the streets.
This cohort will consist of four gatherings designed to equip us to faithfully neighbor, led by the Resilient Communities Center. The cohort is open to: current champions, developing champions, and those looking to receive training for a potential champion role.
First meeting will be Sept 21, 7:30–9pm (Virtual), consisting of resilience mapping, neighborhood asset frameworks, and honest naming of what's hard. Led by Resilient Communities Center.
Know someone at Immanuel who should be a future champion? They can start the cohort this September, so consider bringing them with you.

Discipleship Band Launch
Are you in a Discipleship Band? Join us for an hour after the 11am service for a time of orientation, prayer, and connection as we talk about what they are, how they function, and how they fit into the bigger vision for community life at Immanuel.

Honest Faith: A Series on Disillusionment and the church
If you've ever felt disillusioned by the church, you're not alone. Over three nights, we'll name honestly where the church has caused harm, and where it has changed the world for good — in society, in the life of the mind, and in how we care for the body. No easy answers, no defensiveness. Just space to grieve what's true, and rediscover what's still worth staying for.

Evening Prayer & Song
Immanuel seeks to make space for stillness, prayer, and revelation from God. Building on our ongoing Worship & Prayer services, Evening Prayer and Song incorporates the historic prayers of the Book of Common Prayer with gospel, folk, and jazz.
Whether you’re curious about liturgical worship or seeking intentional space with God, this gathering offers a chance to slow down, listen, and engage with God.
Family Service
On this Sunday, we will create space where the whole family can worship together, and kids can experience the fullness of a Sunday worship service. Kids K-5th grades will join their families for worship in the sanctuary and remain with them throughout the entirety of the service at both 9 & 11am. Kids Ministry will be available for kids 0-PreK.
Neighborhood Group Leader Training
If you are in any leadership role for Neighborhood Groups for the 2026 - 2027 school year, please join us for a special night of preparation. We will have two evening options for you attend: 8/19 and 8/24. There will be some training and equipping time as well as some prayer time and space to fellowship and offer best practices. Engaging Homelessness Class
This short seminar from Lazarus offers a practical and compassionate introduction to engaging with neighbors experiencing homelessness. Through stories, lessons learned, and practical tools, participants explore how healthy boundaries, simple acts of generosity, and treating every person with dignity can foster genuine kinship and meaningful connection.

Neighborhood Group Meet & Greet
Are you interested in being in a Neighborhood Group this year? On August 16th, you are invited to our Neighborhood Group Meet & Greet! Stop by the tables in the Atrium and meet representatives from Immanuel's different Neighborhood Groups in between services and after the 11am!
Immanuel Partner Champion Lunch & Learn
If you are a current partner champion or are interested in learning more about what it means to come alongside one of our local partners as a champion, we invite you to join us for a lunch & learn on Sunday, August 9th from 1-2pm in the sanctuary. During this time, we will be introducing a new Partnership Cohort, a network where partner leaders and lay champions gather together four times a year to be spiritually formed while working toward neighborhood flourishing in Atlanta. Every gathering is designed as a transformative experience — lament, renewal, adaptive leadership, and celebration — because we believe the work of neighborhood transformation has to form the people doing it.

Move-Up Sunday
Move-Up Sunday is the Sunday when everyone who is old enough moves up to their new age-appropriate class. It's also our Kindergarten Celebration, where rising Kindergartners will be celebrated at both the 9am and 11am services and be given a small gift to let them know how proud we are of them as they take the big step into elementary school. All rising Kindergartners should begin worshiping in church with their parent(s) on August 2nd. They will then dismiss to the elementary classes with children grades K-5 just before the sermon begins.
Blessing of the Backpacks
Students and teachers, bring your backpacks to church so we can bless you before the school year begins! You will be invited up at the end of each service for a blessing.
Abide Summer Youth Camp
The Anglican Diocese of the South is hosting summer camp for Anglican youth! Rising 7th grade to 12th grade are invited to Huntsville, AL to enjoy worship, fellowship, and a variety of camp activities.

Sabbath Sunday
We will not be meeting for our regular church services on Sunday, July 5th, as a sabbath practice. Enjoy time with your families and/or visit another church in the area!
Communion Sunday
On Sunday, June 28th, we will gather for communion in the atrium at 10am and hold space for prayer and quiet reflection in the sanctuary. We will not have our regularly scheduled 9 and 11am services.
Family Service Sundays
We will be having our Family Sunday Services on June 14th and 21st.

WellRoot Lunch & Learn
Join us after the 11am service on June 7th for a Lunch & Learn with WellRoot Family Services. It will take place at WellRoot's new facility around the corner from the church (walkable from Immanuel).
Over a shared meal, you’ll hear how WellRoot is serving vulnerable children and families in our neighborhood and discover practical ways our Immanuel community can get involved.

Immanuel Kids Camp
Do you have what it takes to survive the wild? Join us for Kids Camp June 1st-4th from 9am-1pm for four days of learning, worship, fun, and games. We'll pick up some survival skills along the way and learn to thrive in the Kingdom of God!
*Kids Camp is for rising 1st Grade through rising 6th Grade.

Pentecost Potluck
Immanuel community–let’s feast! Pentecost is the day when we celebrate the Holy Spirit’s arrival and the birth of the church, which is the body of Christ composed of every tribe, tongue, family, and nation.
To celebrate Pentecost, we will share food from the various places we have lived or loved around the world as we lean into the beauty and diversity of God’s church.
Please REGISTER to bring a dish! If you cannot bring food, please pay $5 per person when you sign up and register by May 20th for ample food planning.

Worship & Prayer
Join us for Worship & Prayer on May 13th at 7pm, which will be led by singer/songwriter Eric Marshall (Young Oceans). We will center our time on Easter through imaginative prayer, sacred song, and silence.
These spacious services are designed for us to receive from the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Atrium Artists Panel Reflection: An Evening With the Artists
Join us for dessert, wine, and a panel discussion with the four artists who painted the liturgical art in Immanuel's atrium about the creative process, faith, and the liturgical year. This laid back event will be a chance to hear from the artists and reflect on how our creativity can connect us to our life with God and each other more deeply.
