As we enter the sacred season of Advent, join us for a reflective worship and prayer service designed to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. This evening will feature instrumental arrangements that guide us into the deep, quiet anticipation of the season along with repetitive singing and prayer. The atmosphere will be contemplative, drawing us into prayerful reflection on the hope, peace, joy, and love that Advent brings.

Immanuel Kids ages Kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to be a part of Immanuel Kid's Annual Christmas pageant on December 7th, 2024 at 4pm.

Rehearsal will be held on Sunday, December 1st at 2:30 pm and Dress Rehearsal will be Saturday the 7th at 3pm (one hour before the pageant). If you are participating, you must be able to attend rehearsals.

Karen Guess will lead us as we discover how John’s purposes for writing these letters reveal important themes that we can practice together at Immanuel—themes like abiding love, deep and true connection to Jesus, and faithful hospitality. Lazarus will offer an Engaging Homelessness class at Immanuel on Tuesday, August 13th, as a way to equip people to love our neighbors living on the margins well, in thoughtful and dignifying ways. Allison McGill, the founder of Lazarus, will share personal stories and practical tips from her 20+ years of experience working with our friends experiencing homelessness. What if I said disagreement and mismatch with your kids is a good thing? How does this conflict with the “because I said so” mentality of discipline from your own childhood? If we don’t want to continue that method, then how do we do it differently?

When our kids talk back, break the rules, have uncontrollable energy, or aren’t reaching their full potential it creates stress and when we are stressed, we fall back into those old discipline ways-even when we don’t want to. Let’s get together to talk about and learn how to handle (and even celebrate) mismatch and discord. We don’t have to just accept it! We can use DBT, Chi for Two, and other therapeutic modalities to bring peace into the discipline process.

This Holy Week, come deepen your connection to the journey of Jesus through Visio Divina, an ancient practice integrated with media and art. Selections will highlight the artistic perspectives of Bruce Onobrakpeya and Sadiki Souza. The program is presented by the Jubilee Council in partnership with Kaleid in an effort to explore the intersection of justice and contemplation in our spirtual formation.
