MEMBERSHIP

Belonging to a healthy local church is vital for all believers. The letters found in the New Testament are written to local communities of believers who had been joined together by the Gospel of Christ.

The process of becoming a member at Immanuel is a formational process. We dig deep into the ancient faith of the Church before exploring how these beliefs shape the vision, values, and practices of Immanuel.

Interested in joining? Our membership process begins each Lent and concludes during the Easter season when new members are welcomed into the church.

PROCESS

In membership, we communicate news about the church, we develop lay leadership, we request helpful feedback, and we celebrate what God is doing in Immanuel with each other. We see membership as a partnership between the church and parishioners seeking to live out the mission of Immanuel alongside one another.

The steps for the membership process are outlined below...

  1. ATTEND A NEWCOMER’S MEETING

These happen quarterly and this meeting provides an introduction into the history, culture, and community of Immanuel. You can find out when the next one is HERE.

2. ATTEND the FOUNDATIONS CLASS

This class is held every year during the Lenten season. In this class, we study the basics of the faith through the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the 10 Commandments. Signups for the 2024 class are now open HERE.

3. ATTEND THE MEMBERSHIP CLASS

The membership class is a 1- or 2-week class during the Easter season. In this class, we share the foundational values that shape the vision and mission of the church and what Members of Immanuel are invited into.

4. SIGN OUR MEMBERSHIP FORM

After attending each of these classes, if you would like to join the body at Immanuel, you will be sent a link to our membership form!
